10 May Mountain Solid
On days I feel shaky, I reach for the mantra of Mountain Solid during my meditation practice. It grounds me and helps hold my attention on the breath. I finish feeling much calmer and stronger.
The mantra is said silently, in concert with the breath:
Inhale, I am a mountain.
Exhale, I am solid.
After a few rounds like that, it simply turns into:
Over and over. Like a song.
The best part of mantra? You can use it or lose it. If it helps you, great. If it doesn’t, leave it alone.
Think of mantra as a tool in your meditation tool box. Something to reach for when you need it.
